• Question: Why does the left of the brain control the right and the right controls your left, why are they so complicated

      It is just the way the brain wired up. There must be a reason, maybe it makes things more easy to control. There is a big descripetion of how the 2 halves work if you follow this link…

      Jo’ll be able to give a better answer to this than me, but I think it’s just one of evolution’s quirks to allow for optimal development and control of our bodies

      Hello again! First of all, each side of the brain controls the opposite side of space (left brain controls right side – right brain controls left side) because of the way that the brain evolved over many thousands of years – it’s actually very clever because if you damage one side of the brain you only lose movement on one side of your body!

      Secondly, I think the brain is so complex because there are so many different systems like memory, language, vision, and movement to name a few. Each system is then divided into lots of different sub-systems – like for memory we can have short-term memory (memory for something that happened a few minutes ago) and long-term memory (memory for things that happened 1 year ago). Each sub-system works in a different way and it takes scientists years and years to fully understand them. Then of course there is the issue of how they all work together!
