Hello again! Dreams are thoughts or images which happen while we are asleep but can also happen during the day as well. Scientists have tried to understand dreams for a long time and what is known is that:

      1) the average dream can last a few minutes or up to 20 minutes
      2) we can have many dreams per night but we usually only remember one or two
      3) people can dream in colour and also in black and white!

Dreams may be a way for the brain to make sense of the world or work out problems that we have faced during the day. Or dreams may happen because of a bad experience that plays on our minds. Of course, some people believe that dreams are a signal of what will happen in the future!

There are lots of theories on why we dream. One is that it is our brain’s way of coping with an emotion-so if we are stressed about something, something that represents that will occur in a dream.

We do not fully understand why people dream at night, some people think dreams are ways of making sense of what happened, others that they are pretty random firings, others that they can have personal significance. In the day time people day dream, often when they are bored. I used to day dream in school sometimes, including the first half hour of an english exam once!
