      Hey Fred,
I think the best inventions are the ones we use every day and now take for granted. The one that stands out for me I must admit is indoor plumbing. I don’t need to poo outside or in public, the streets dont stink of other peoples poo and their are less nasty diseases. I like being able to shower when I feel like it without a trip to the nearest river or pump or caring heavy buckets of water. Sounds good to me! There are so many genius inventions out there, whats your favourite?

      Hi Fred,
For me, the computer and the telephone. What do you think?

The wheel is pretty good, also language, antibiotics, electricity, computers, instantaneous information transfer across distance, recording language and pictures. If you’ll allow biological inventions too – opposed thumbs, a big brain, wings and multicellular animals.

Can I give you my top three? 1) Brain imaging which allows us to take ‘pictures’ of people’s brains, 2) areoplanes which take us from one part of the world to another in a matter of hours, 3) the telephone which connects us to even the most remote places in the world in a matter of seconds.

The electric guitar 🙂 Seriously though, the human brain takes some beating as one of Nature’s best inventions
