• Question: What happens to water if you compress it more and more and more... (It can\'t just disappear)?

      It will just cause a build up in pressure. It will get to a point where the container won’t be strong enough to withstand the pressure and so will burst if it has nowhere to escape.

      Hiya! Water is very difficult to compress – you need a very large amount of pressure for a very small amount of compression so you cannot really compress liquid like water effectively. However, the water at the bottom of the ocean is compressed by the water at the top to some degree so it is ‘denser’ – this means it is kind of thicker at the bottom than at the top.
