my sisters both did well at school one is a doctor and the other an occupational therapist (kinda like a physio but works with children who have disabilities) so any pressure was just to do well and probably my own doing and nothing to do with my parents. Luckily I liked science and did well at it. I researched the unis I wanted to go to and courses I wanted to do myself and I think made the right decision as I now love my job. 🙂

definitely personal preference. my parents were never pushy and i was always interested in how things worked, particularly the human body

My parents wanted me to be happy and did not pressure me in anyway. I felt free to pursue my own choices. At school I spent time checking out what sort of psychology was tsaught at different universities before I applied.

      Hiya 🙂
Noone has ever pressured me into doing anything! I can be pretty awkward and tend to do the things I want to. I just ended up doing science really-I did my A levels in science, then my degree and then when I worked in industry on Alzheimer’s I fell in love with research and the thought that my work may help improve people’s lives.

Hello. It was a personal preference. Everyone in my family does different things – some of them are teachers, some of them work in shops, some of them are scientists. I was lucky to have a very open family background.
