Hello again! I’m sorry that your sister was poorly. You didn’t mention what type of operation she had on her back but probably your sister didn’t feel like eating because her body was trying to heal itself – during the healing process hunger can often be suppressed (the person does not feel hungry) because the body is returning back to normal. Usually, after a few days the person starts to eat again.

If it was straight afterwards, it may have been because she was in pain, or because she was feeling sick from the anaesthetic the doctors had given her.

      Hey
Pain can affect how willing you are to eat. So if she was sore then hey energy would be cgoing into coping with that rather than thinking about food. It could also have been her bodies way of protecting itself from more pain because as she ate and the food moved through her body to her intestings and then generated poo it would pass the length of the body and she probably just wanted everything to stay still. Presumably she also had a general anaesthetic (drug to pet her asleep) these can leave you feeling ill and also affect your appetite. I hope she is feeling better now.

Maybe she felt sick from the anaesthetic?
