THiya Maaher, thanks for the question! There are a lot of things unknown about the brain, and so hopefully things I find will add to the pot of knowledge used to find treatments for brain diseases.

The work we do helps understand how our bodies work and what goes wrong when we get diseases or things breakdown. This might help come up with new remedies and treatments to help people with things like obesity, diabetes, Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s or other things.

Science is all about discovery and knowledge across many different fields, which benefits other people in endless ways from potentially curing cancer to inventing brain imaging techniques to understand more about the normal and impaired human brain. The most important thing about science is one discovery always leads to another!
