Yes several times. I think it is very educational to see different cultures and lifestyle as well as a lot of fun. Staying in cheap places you also tend to meet a lot of other great travellers from different countries too. You used to be able to get a very good deal flying around the world with up to ten stopovers from Trailfinders. If ever you get the chance to go to Australia or New Zealand research it and you’ll find you can get stopovers en route, eg India and Thailand on way out, Fiji and LA on way back. Of course this is not that cheap but still pretty good considering all the places you get to see and a lot cheaper than a car. A lot of flying is harder to justify these days because airplane emissions contribute to global warming. One can go a long way round the world on coach or train. Often when I travel for work I tack a bit of holiday to see a bit more of the world.
Hello again! Yes lots of people have traveled around the world! The most famous is probably Christopher Columbus who was an explorer and a navigator – he was from Italy and he helped discover America. I have traveled around the world too – I have been to America, Australia, coast of Africa, New Zealand, and Europe.
It is very educational to travel – you meet really interesting people and find out so much about other people’s cultures.
Hey Gracey
Thanks for the question. People have! There are also events like the boat race that tries to go around the word and people have tried to do it in hot air balloons too. Personally I have been as far as Australia (My sister lived there for a while and her husband is from that part of the world) but think I came back the way way as I went so I haven’t been the whole wat around the world. A good thing about science is that scientists like to talk about their work so we having meetings all over the world to see what everyone else is doing so there is lots of opportunities to travel.
I haven’t personally, but would like to one day when I can find some time. Have visited quite a few places around the world for conferences etc. Would love to go to Japan
