Yes I think my research on creativity has helped people in organisations realise more people are creative than they thought and taught them different ways of approaching problems with colleagues and moving forward to different actions. Its helped some people be calmer. My work on different ways people develop is showing the importance of neglected approaches to development that rely less on talk and reflection and more on intuitive, physical and social approaches. I am also trying to understand the way personality interrelates with development. Different approaches suit different people.

Our aim is to understand as much as possible about the normal and impaired human brain – the two lines of research go hand in hand. The people I work with are directly involved with helping people with Alzheimer’s disease, for example, a brain disorder that causes people to lose their memory – even making a cup of tea can become impossible. If we learn as much about memory as possible we may be able to help prevent Alzheimer’s disease in the future.
