No – you need a certain amount of vitamin A (which is concentrated in vegetables like carrots) for your eyes to develop and continue to function properly. Eating any more than this certain amount won’t give you any extra advantage I’m afraid!

My mum always told me to eat my carrots so I could. Carrots are good for you but I fear that is an old wives tale!

Basically Vit A is important for eyesight and carrots have this. So eating carrots helps keep your eyes healithy and sensitive to light but if it was pitch dark i think you would need a torch no matter how many carrots you ate. 🙂

Hello! Many people think this is the case because carrots contain ‘carotene’ which is a pigment that absorbs light. This means that if you eat a lot of carrots you can – in theory – have more carotene in your body and see much better because the dark doesn’t seem so dark!
