Hello! Peristalsis means that muscles in the human body contract (move) in a symmetrical way – so a muscle ‘ripples’ in the same way on the left and right side. Think of the way a worm moves with movement starting at one end of the body and rippling down to the other end. The digestive system in the human body uses this type of movement to push food into the stomach and from the stomach into the digestive tract.
I’m not quite sure what you mean by ‘interception’ – if you are talking about interception during football or rugby let me know and I’ll explain how it’s related!
I’m not sure what interceception is but peristalsis is the contraction of a tube of smooth muscle. It happens in your digestive system as food you’ve chewed then moves along-the smooth muscles contract behind the food pushing it along.
